Return to Work: Analyzing and Evaluating Job Tasks
Return to Work Interactive Workshop – Get your Injured Employees Back to Work Now – Part 2
April 30, 2008 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m (Eastern-time)
Modified duty does not always require relocating the employee to a new Department. Sometimes the employee can continue working in their regular work area.
The key to a successful return to work program is analyzing the pre-injury job tasks and developing light duty job tasks.
This workshop will show you how to evaluate the pre-injury job, create light duty positions, identify tasks that are compatible with the employees restrictions and how to assign the tasks.
The first step in determining how to modify a job is to identify the essential and marginal functions of the job – not from a Human Resources standpoint but from a workers’ compensation standpoint.
We will show you how to complete a Job Demand Evaluation and create an effective Workers’ Compensation Job Description which you will use to identify light or modified duty tasks.
AGENDA
- Part 1: The importance of having an effective workers’ compensation job description.
- Part 2: Identify the Essential and Marginal Functions for all positions within your organization.
- Part 3: Evaluate the job demands in a Six Step Process.
- Part 4: We will write a detailed Job Narrative and compile it into a detailed Job Description.
